About the school
A secondary special school with an exciting curriculum that is both broad yet meets the individual needs of their students so that they are able to make progress both in their learning and in their personal development. All of their students have moderate learning difficulties, many with additional needs such as dyslexia, ASD, Speech, Language and Communication and ADHD. Every classroom teacher is supported with a TA in the classroom and the classes are small numbers.

Responsibilities would include (not limited to):

  • Delivering 1-1 and group therapy sessions
  • Liaising closely with other staff members, parents and external agencies such as CAMHS
  • Input into and updating individual behaviour plans (IBP's) & EHCP's
  • Helping new students to settle and adapt into the school
  • Report writing 
  • Undertaking assessments
  • Planning and providing appropriate treatment
  • Maintaining records and case notes
  • Liaising with doctors, physiotherapists, teachers, family members and carers
  • Performing controlled therapy sessions with individuals, groups and/or families.
  Essential Criteria:
  • Degree or equivalent within Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registered 
  • Must have or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS check registered on the update service
  • Minimum of 2 years experience is desirable but newly qualified therapist's will be considered for this post
Salary in line with NHS banding scales, dependant on experience. 

Please note this role will require you to complete a full registration with anzuk prior to commencing.
